About the role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to assist in construction design and site plan updates for our Columbus Corn Processing facility by developing and maintaining project drawings and documents. Specific Job Duties:
- Aid engineers with preparation of construction documents, coordination of project tasks, and development of work plans and flow sheets.
- Prepare and update PFD’s, P&IDs, GA’s (general layouts), 3D structural and piping models, etc.
- Develop structural and/or mechanical design, construction plans, and specifications using AutoCAD compatible software.
- Field verify equipment, buildings and piping.
- Follow CAD Drafting Standards.
- Maintain drawings in computer directories.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field of study.
- 2+ years industrial or construction work experience.
- 2+ years mechanical or structural drafting experience.
- Must be able to perform non-routine and complex drafting assignments requiring application of standard CAD drawing techniques.
- Ability and willingness to work outside at construction sites as needed for field work.
- Proficient in AutoCad.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of piping and mechanical systems.
- PREFERRED: Knowledge in NavisWorks or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs from waist to shoulder on an occasional basis.
- No push/pull requirement.
- Must be able to walk 1-3 hours.
- Must be able to sit 5-8 hours.
- Must be able to squat/kneel on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to climb stairs/ladders on an occasional basis.
- Constant computer/keyboarding.
