Design Engineering Specialist
About the role
As a Design Engineer within our Commercial Building & Infrastructure (CBI) team, you will play a critical role in shaping the innovative products and engineered solutions that strengthen our commercial building portfolio. Your technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving mindset directly influence the quality, performance, and success of every project we deliver.
Responsibilities
- Drive Innovation: Transform engineering and architectural principles into practical, high performing solutions for CBI products. Your ability to generate innovative 2D and 3D concepts, supported by strong CAD proficiency, ensures we remain at the forefront of commercial building design.
- Bridge Technical Disciplines: Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and cross-functional partners across CBI, serving as a key connector to ensure design intent, manufacturability, and performance align seamlessly.
- Bring Designs to Life: From detailed drawings to specifications, material estimates, and model integration, convert ideas into actionable plans that guide project execution and production. Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and engineering excellence at every stage.
- Enhance Product Quality & Functionality: Through thoughtful design work, including pattern development, modeling, blueprint interpretation, and adherence to industry standards, help deliver products that are functional, aesthetically compelling, and engineered for long-term performance.
- Support Project Success: Contribute to proposals, presentations, and cross-team communication to help advance key initiatives and support CBI's strategic growth.
- Champion Technical Excellence: Uphold engineering best practices, leverage CAD tools, and apply rigorous standards to ensure every deliverable reflects the highest level of quality and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product design, engineering, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
