Engineering COOP

About the role

Vanteon is seeking Engineering Co-ops for upcoming semesters. In this position, you will assist our experienced team of hardware, embedded software, and FPGA engineers in developing solutions for our clients. You will also support IRAD developments, such as Vanteon's vProtean SDR platform.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from assigned mentor and project manager on daily tasks
• Write HDL code for FPGAs
• Write code for microprocessors (C, C++, Python, or other)
• Work with hardware design tools (e.g., Altium) to create schematics and PCB layouts
• Work in the lab to build or rework printed circuit boards
• Use test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers) in the lab to test circuits

Requirements

• Some knowledge of coding for embedded processors or FPGAs or knowledge of hardware design for PCBs (schematics and PCB layout)
• Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Tech, Electrical Engineering Tech, or similar
• Regular in-office presence required; hybrid/flexible scheduling available based on business needs
• Occasional requirement to work above 40 hours per week or outside regular business hours

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Able to perform low to moderately strenuous physical activities requiring standing, walking, and reaching
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Pay

Anticipated compensation range: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour.

This is a temporary position and does not qualify for Vanteon's standard benefits package. Due to contractual requirements, if hired you will be required to pass both a background and drug screening.
