KPFF Consulting Engineers provides structural and civil engineering services to architects, government agencies, developers, and contractors for projects with a wide range of functions. With offices across the U.S., KPFF’s civil engineering staff delivers site development, parks, recreation facilities, and improvements to existing city streets, urban arterials, and highways. Services include site planning, environmental analysis, storm drainage studies, wetlands enhancement, permit coordination, and design of grading, drainage, storm detention, utilities, access roads, parking facilities, and public street improvements. The civil group also serves as a prime consultant for government clients on transportation, waterfront, site improvements, and major utility projects.

About the role

KPFF Los Angeles is seeking motivated, energetic, and experienced civil engineers with three to five years of experience. The selected candidate will design site development projects, including rough and precise grading, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology and hydraulic calculations, and coordination with other staff and design team members. Responsibilities also include research, permitting, preparation of construction documents, technical specifications, and site inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Perform civil engineering design for site development projects, including grading, water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
  • Conduct hydrology and hydraulic calculations.
  • Coordinate work with other staff and design team members.

  • Visit job sites to inspect existing conditions and assess scope of work requirements.
  • Apply established engineering principles to solve problems and overcome obstacles.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

Requirements

  • E.I.T. or P.E. license.
  • Three to five years of relevant site development engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with hydrology modeling, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods while working on a computer.

Pay

The base salary for this role is $88,000 - $105,000, depending on education, experience, and licensure. Performance-based bonuses are also offered.
