ENGINEERING CARPENTER - CB & VR - FULL-TIME - VARIED SHIFT

About the role

Responsible for maintaining and repairing the existing appearance of property and fixtures, assisting with in-house remodels and working with outside contractors on larger projects for all Mesquite Gaming properties.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and laminate cabinets
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance activities
• Replace or repair with specific parts for individual problems
• Move materials and equipment to specified locations throughout the properties
• Maintain an orderly schedule of preventive maintenance
• Complete paperwork, as necessary
• Follow specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings when necessary
• Strictly adhere to all departmental, company, and governmental rules, regulations and policies with specific attention to safety and environmental concerns
• Maintain a constant awareness of safety problems and report unsafe conditions and exposure to shift supervisor
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management
• Take ownership and ‘It’s my job’ attitude

• Convey a positive and professional image to team members and guests
• Take pride in workmanship

Requirements

• Minimum age: 21 years old
• Valid Driver’s License and DMV Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old)
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs
• Physical exertion: long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items
• Above-average agility and dexterity
• Work in undesirable conditions including extreme heat (exceeding 120 degrees), cold, wind and rain
• Moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions (working around moving parts, carts, or machines, or with irritant chemicals)
• May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, glasses, hard hats, gloves and boots
• Use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals
• Exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years experience in general carpentry required
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and work independently
• Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to read and understand blueprints

Pay

Starting rate: $30.00

Schedule

24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
