About the role
This position provides assistance in engineering operations, including maintenance, repair of hotel property, outside grounds, hotel equipment, preventative maintenance, and asset protection. You will follow high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Learn and demonstrate the ability to maintain property assets, working with the Chief Engineer to understand preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, routine inspections, and capital expenditures.
- Understand the impact of maintaining company assets and how it contributes to the overall financial success of the hotel property.
- Assist and respond to guest requests in a friendly and positive manner, providing the highest level of service.
- Assess and evaluate property assets through preventative maintenance.
- Work with appropriate managers to recommend maintenance service solutions in a respectful and courageous manner.
- Learn, understand, and execute all engineering standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work as a team player to meet guest needs and actively contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary.
- Complete all assigned duties inside or outside the normal scope of responsibilities within the engineering department.
- Operate carts, bobcats, and ice surfacing machines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment when needed.
- Follow all procedures for guest and associate incidents.
- Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Produce the required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Adhere to attendance policies, general work rules, and department procedures.
- Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- CPO and appliance repair certification is desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on property needs.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of maintenance experience is preferred.
- Attention to detail, customer-focused, and the ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
Must be available to work weekends on a rotation and have flexibility.
