Engineering Assistant/Intern, Summer 2027

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned project tasks including preparing and updating project schedules and producing reports related to projects.
  • May interact with other professionals and teams on project matters, under guidance.
  • Assist in preparing engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids.
  • Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater and soil sampling, remediation system operations, site inspections).
  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories to assist in interpreting and analyzing data.
  • Review contractor submittals for adherence to technical specifications on construction projects.
  • Compare investigation findings to relevant studies and provincial/federal regulations to assess compliance, draft reports documenting results and presenting findings;
  • Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software.
    • GIS and/or CAD skills.
    • Good oral and written communication skills, good sense of professionalism.
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly and both orally and in writing.
