Engineering Assistant

About the role

The Engineering Department of NPG of Yuma-El Centro is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support the technical operations of our multimedia news production.

Responsibilities

• Aid in setting up, operating, and maintaining audio and video equipment for news production.
• Monitor and resolve technical issues with broadcast equipment and systems.
• Install and configure new equipment and software.
• Collaborate with engineers and producers to ensure smooth news broadcasts and live events.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Provide technical support to newsroom staff as needed.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a technical role, preferably in a news or broadcast environment.
• Familiarity with audio and video production equipment and software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site 40 hours per week.
• Ability to pass drug and background screenings.
