Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance and installation of electrical equipment and all associated systems and devices
- Repairs or replaces electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand and power tools
- Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components
- Completes maintenance connection work orders
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Tests electrical systems and continuity in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, megohmmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of the system
- Responsible for all department logs/record keeping and labor recording pertinent to their day-to-day job duties
- Afford assistance to other trades as necessary
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum Education and Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a licensed trade or two years schooling in appropriate field may be substituted for equivalent work experience requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass both a verbal and technical proficiency test and demonstrate skills necessary to perform specific job functions
- Must be able to read and work from blueprints
Competencies
- Master the following competencies while in this position: Good written and communication skills, Has firm knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety requirements of the trade, Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the trade, Familiar with the running building management systems for HVAC and Stationary (CUP)
Training Requirements
- OSHA Lockout/Tag out procedures
- Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure training
- Respirator training and fit tested
- Man lifts training (scissor and boom lift)
- Forklift training
- Confined space training
- Fall Protection
- Mohegan Sun will be offering online training to work towards the completion of your trade license
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a casino environment with possible exposure to secondhand smoke
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, reach and climb a ladder
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
