Engineering Analyst II, Manufacturing Nights
BASIC FUNCTION
This position is located onsite at the Kohler Huntsville, AL manufacturing facility producing Kitchen & Bath compression molded products made of SMC (sheet molded compound). This position is responsible for engineering projects and manufacturing support for process improvement and quality initiatives on a specific shift in assigned area of responsibility.
Specific Responsibilities
- Identify and coordinate quality and process improvement initiatives in assigned department on assigned shift to assure that product, processes, and systems are all being reviewed, assessed, and improved.
- Cook with other Engineering Project Analysts and shifts to ensure process and project improvements are sustained across all shifts in assigned department.
- Support daily troubleshooting of concerns in area of assigned responsibility.
- Update and manage Process Specifications and Tolerances/Deviations permitted for press/mold combinations.
- Train and Certify Molding Personnel and other designated personnel on Process Specs/Tolerances/Deviations/etc.
- Train and Certify Molding Utility and Team Leads on Troubleshooting Processes.
- Identify targeted improvement projects based on capacity, downtime, yield, and scrap information.
- Manage the projects and implementation to achieve desired results.
- Use and assure the use of yield information, variability reduction, and process control systems.
- Mentor and train junior technical and operations personnel.
- Initiate and coordinate process improvement plans based on quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale metrics.
- Apply data driven process improvements using the Kohler 6-Step problem solving methods and any other statistic or non-statistic tools applicable.
- Assist in equipment selection, workshops, and product/process introduction as needed.
- Participate and lead KOS workshops in your area as directed.
- Assist in developing, deploying, and standardizing divisional quality systems.
- Participate in the deployment and auditing of all ISO 9000 systems used in manufacturing and support areas.
- Continuously strive to improve existing manufacturing and support systems to facilitate better performance in areas of quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
- Conduct training to support the above as necessary.
Skills/Requirements
- Average degree from a technical college or Bachelor’s degree (can be a non-engineering degree) with 2 or more years work experience in an engineering environment – or directly applicable work experience and demonstrated results.
- Should possess solid communication and structured problem-solving skills.
- Able to teach and mentor team members on problem-solving techniques.
- Must perform technical assignments and process improvements with a high degree of urgency and quality.

Benefits
The salary range for this position is $58,300 - $87,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.

Schedule
This position will work a 2-2-3 schedule from 7 PM - 7 AM.
