Qualifications
- Education Required: BS degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited Engineering program.
- Experience Required: 15 years (minimum) of experience with at least 8 of those years in the commercial nuclear power industry, including experience with PWR and/or BWR plants, primary and secondary systems, performing calculations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, system modifications and upgrades to improve safety and reliability.
- Knowledge Required: Superior technical knowledge of mechanical discipline, familiarity with codes and standards applicable to the nuclear power industry, and working knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations (including the NRC).
Skills
- Independent judgment in performing calculations, modifications, and designs.
- Able to present and justify modification packages to quality and safety reviews.
- Ability to work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions and develop design changes which will improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
- Interface and work with equipment vendors as needed.
