As a trusted partner to military customers, HII designs, develops, and operates the largest LVC enterprise to prepare warfighters for cross-domain battle. The role supports Navy Surface Warfare Center – Corona (NSWC Corona) in providing Marine Corps LVC training, focusing on operational testing, development, and integration of Navy and Marine Corps LVC training systems to ensure compatibility, interoperability, and alignment with USMC and Fleet training needs.
This full-time, salaried position is located at the Training Support Center (TSC), Marine Corps Base Kanohe Bay, HI. A Secret security clearance is required.
About the Role
The Engineer Systems 3 - JLVC Capability Manager provides subject matter expertise on Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federate simulations and tools to meet training objectives. Responsibilities include training staff and end users, initializing and managing JLVC simulations, and supporting the refinement of enterprise documentation. The role requires flexibility to adapt to evolving business, customer, and contractual needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise on JLVC federate simulations and tools to meet training objectives.
- Train BSC staff and end users on installation, initialization, user roles, and participation in training events.
- Conduct continuing education to ensure awareness of emerging JLVC capabilities and development roadmaps.
- Initialize and employ instances of JLVC federate simulations for training.
- Manage local simulation artifacts (parametric databases, enumeration tables, 3D models, terrain) and align them with Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM) versions.
- Support the Federation Manager in federating JLVC simulations and tools to meet training objectives.
- Refine enterprise documentation on JLVC federates’ capabilities and best practices for implementation.
- Address technical issues during LVC training events by assigning engineers from appropriate domains.
Requirements
- 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years with a Master’s; or 0 years with a PhD/Juris Doctorate; or a High School Diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems.
- Technical leadership ability to address and resolve engineering domain issues during training events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across organizational levels.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Active and maintainable US Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with 6–8 years of experience.
- Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).
- Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
- Experience with MS Visio for technical architecture drawings.
- Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems (e.g., Link 16, GCCS).
- Experience working with Navy systems and/or commands.
Physical Requirements
- Work in office, industrial, or shipboard environments.
- Capable of climbing ladders, tolerating confined spaces, and extreme temperature variances.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
Pay
Anticipated salary range: $99,960 – $130,000, based on location, role expectations, and candidate qualifications.
