Duties

  • Conducting preliminary location, type and cost studies
  • Preparing, supervising and approving design computations, plan specifications and estimates for bridges, separation structures, retaining walls, pedestrian facilities, tunnels, culverts, small buildings and other structures
  • Developing, preparing, reviewing and approving construction and maintenance plans, specifications, proposals, estimate details and computations for both State designed and consultant designed projects
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Professional License: Valid State of Hawaii Professional Engineer license at the time of application
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience, with at least one (1) year comparable to the next lower level
  • Supervisory Experience/Aptitude or Staff Advisory Experience: As described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license at the time of appointment
