Engineer Staff
- Apply years of industry expertise and experience on large-scale projects and anticipate business trends.
- Collaborate with others to identify and develop innovative services or processes that address current and future customer needs and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to leaders.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Power Engineering.
- Provide technical leadership in engineering designs and maintenance as well as reliability best practices for electrical equipment across the company.
- Support Project Execution and Technical Services.
- Interpret industry best practices, standards, and regulatory codes, and provide assessments, strategies, and recommendations for all adoptions.

Responsibilities/Expectations
- Perform sophisticated technical tasks and lead teams in projects of major scope and complexity.
- Develop and implement technical standards and specifications.
- Interpret technological aspects of business and coordinate with leaders to ensure success.
- Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Apply expertise, knowledge, and experience from projects that positively impact earnings.
- Collaborate with others to ensure compliance, build improvement plans, and meet training needs.
- Handle resources requirements for projects.
- Lead initiatives to enhance electrical system reliability through comprehensive root cause analysis, PM optimization, and advanced system studies (e.g., arc flash, load flow, coordination).
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- Evaluate engineering packages to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and project objectives.
- Diagnose complex electrical issues in various systems and equipment, providing expert guidance and training to field support engineers.
- Design and implement robust preventative maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipment.
- Conduct in-depth power system analyses, including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash hazard, harmonics, voltage drop, load flow, transient motor start, and power factor correction studies.
Education/Years of Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
Other Requirements
- Able to work on engineering specialties covering more than one subject area.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills.
- Strong theoretical understanding of power system analysis for low- and medium-voltage applications.
- Experience with power system analysis including short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash Hazard analysis.
- Proficient with engineering tools: SKM Power Systems, ETAP, GE Multilin, SEL Relay Software.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (API, IEEE, NESC, NEC, NFPA).
- Experience designing layout and spacing, specifying equipment, performing grounding studies, and performing protection and coordination studies is strongly preferred.
Engineer Sr
- Conduct technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, design and construction of new and existing facilities, and research on new developments, applying your strong understanding of industry and operational requirements.
- Take initiative and anticipate customer needs.
- Show confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader.
- Provide technical leadership in engineering designs and maintenance as well as reliability best practices for electrical equipment across the company.
- Support Project Execution and Technical Services.
- Interpret industry best practices, standards, and regulatory codes, and provide assessments, strategies, and recommendations for all adoptions.
- Perform complex technical tasks and lead teams in projects or work assignments consisting of major scope or unusual complexity.
- Participate in the development and implementation of technical standards and specifications.
- Assume responsibility for interpretation of technological aspects of business and coordinate with management to assure overall project and operational success.
- Advises and participates in technical presentations to management.
- Represent the company in the capacity of a licensed professional engineer.
