About the role

The role involves performing advanced engineering problem-solving in support of nuclear plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced nuclear engineering and technical tasks in support of nuclear plant operations.
  • Independently conduct research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects.
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability, ensuring compliance with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Affirm the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, ensuring proper configuration management and adherence to standard design criteria, practices, and codes.
  • Identify and resolve equipment and system problems, recommend improvements, and support plant design modifications, testing, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure all engineering products prepared or overseen are compliant with safety analyses, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage functional supervisory activities, including personnel, budgetary accountabilities, and planning goals for engineering personnel.
  • Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) with 10 years of engineering experience. Demonstrated technical leadership experience (e.g., duty team lead, inspection lead) and teamwork/leadership attributes are required. Advanced technical degrees or coursework are preferred.

Skills

Superior knowledge in functional disciplines, practical application, and excellent knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations are essential. Recognized industry-level expertise in a technical area is also required.

Salary range is $151,200 to $168,000, varying based on experience.
