About the role
The Electrical & Electronic Solutions (EES) team is seeking a collaborative, action-oriented Senior Test Engineer to contribute and lead within a group of motivated problem solvers. This position has responsibility for leading electrical test engineering activities associated with the development, qualification, and verification of electronic systems at the board and box levels through scripted automated testing.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the qualification and validation efforts for electronic assemblies at the board and box levels, ensuring products meet rigorous performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Lead board/box-level electronics test and troubleshooting, including resolution of hardware anomalies, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Design and implement comprehensive special test equipment, test fixtures, test plans, and test procedures for prototype, qualification, and acceptance testing of electronic assemblies.
- Drove test strategy development and execution throughout the complete lifecycle of electronics development: requirements definition, architectural design, detailed design and analysis, manufacturing, test, integration, and post-delivery support.
- Author and maintain test engineering documentation, including test plans, test procedures, test logs, test records, and comprehensive test summary reports in accordance with program requirements.
- Develop scripts (Python or Ruby) to automate the execution of test through custom/COTS hardware and software.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to technicians and engineers, coordinating activities across multidisciplinary teams to predict and meet schedules and resolve technical disconnects.
- Support program milestones such as preliminary design reviews (PDR), critical design reviews (CDR), and customer acceptance reviews through clear presentation of test results and technical issues.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- Experience with design and implementation of high-speed digital electronics, analog circuitry, FPGAs, and embedded processor systems.
- Familiarity with signal and power integrity analysis of digital designs.
- Experience with design, analysis, and layout of PCBs with analog and high-speed digital line rates.
- Familiarity with communication protocols and standards including PCIe, Ethernet, SRIO, Spacewire, 1553, UART, etc.
- Experience in key electrical systems design for circuit designs such as microprocessors, command and telemetry designs, low noise analog circuits, and custom designs.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD or similar qualification standards for aerospace and defense electronic systems.
- Background in environmental and EMI/EMC testing of electronic assemblies.
- Experience preparing and presenting technical test content to an audience during major program reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR).
- Advanced computer application skills, such as MATLAB, Python, Ruby, LabVIEW, C, C++, COSMOS and/or other analytical and test automation tools.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or similar systems engineering platforms.
Qualifications
