Engineer, Senior Environmental (Mont Belvieu, TX)

About the role

The Senior Environmental Engineer will coordinate day-to-day environmental compliance for assigned facilities and operations, and support Operations to ensure consistent implementation of environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and investigate improvement opportunities.
• Serve as the "customer service" link to operations.
• Implement corporate EHS&T directives.
• Communicate internal best practices to assigned facilities/operations personnel.
• Provide input to the EHS&T staff to improve procedures and practices.
• Prepare assigned routine environmental reports (e.g., NSPS, MACT).
• Ensure each site is maintained in an inspection-ready manner and attend agency inspections.
• Implement waste minimization strategies.
• Respond to emergencies and spills.
• Manage short-term remediation projects.
• Manage environmental contractors as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field (preferred).
• 10 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry complying with environmental regulations (required).
• 10 or more years of industry experience (preferred).
• Air (Title V) implementation experience (preferred).
• Storm Water and Waste Water management experience (preferred).
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritize and organize daily.
• Physically able to walk across terrain to reach response sites.
• Ability to work independently and self-manage work and schedules.
• Identify regulatory requirements and determine applicability of regulations to work areas.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
