Engineer Senior

About the role

The Engineer Senior role is based at Elevance Health’s Pulse Point location at 740 W. Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308. This position requires working in-office 1-2 days per week, combining structured office engagement with flexible remote work options.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.
• Owes the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
• Provides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross-functional teams.
• Researches and may propose new technologies.
• Develops and owns list of final enhancements.
• Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from which programs will be written.
• Performs technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Maintains technical development environment.
• Mentors others and may lead multiple or small to medium sized projects.
• Will begin to set direction at the project/service level and influences decision-making.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring.
• Identifies and proposes strategies around technical problems affecting team, communicates standards and gets buy-in on solutions.
• Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
• Supports vendor evaluation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Five (5) years in any occupation with engineering or related experience.
• Experience managing and deploying applications on cloud using Kubernetes.
• Experience creating and exposing microservices and API.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages creating batch jobs and processes.
• Experience creating pipeline for continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Experience building applications using multiple programming languages.
• Experience using multiple databases within applications such as MySQL.

Qualifications

Must be able to work at least one day per week at the Elevance Health Pulse Point location at 740 W. Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308. Must be willing to comply with Elevance Health’s vaccination policy for certain patient/member-facing roles.

Skills

Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like Kubernetes, experience with microservices architecture, proficiency in Python or other scripting languages, experience with CI/CD pipelines, and expertise in multiple database systems are essential.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
