About the Role

Provides Quality Engineering support and coordinates quality activities for inspecting the final quality of components and finished products for assigned programs. Leads teams with training matrix reviews, coordinates customer actions, and conducts root cause analysis. Develops and reviews program quality plans and assists lower-level Quality Engineers in determining customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct Quality Engineering support to assigned programs.
• Plans and executes innovative problem and defect prevention/process improvement methods, applying statistics to problem-solving and reporting.
• Applies knowledge of military and technical specifications to prevent, correct, and resolve quality-related problems with suppliers, customer-supplied, or government-supplied materials.
• Coordinates Quality Management System (QMS) functions (45%): relays instruction on inspection methods, quality tools (FMEA, process mapping, Root Cause analysis, SPC), and inspection equipment use.
• Prepares plans, executes projects, and delivers reports for quality engineering initiatives (10%).
• Receives and reviews technical data for assigned programs; prepares and maintains documentation to support the QMS (10%).
• Oversees First Article Testing and product inspection for supplied parts and ammunition items in assigned programs (10%).
• Prepares required reports and ensures supporting records are maintained (5%).
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Technical, or Engineering field (BA/BS).
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Thorough understanding of safe operating procedures and ability to communicate and enforce them.
• Effective communication skills for cross-disciplinary team building and soliciting support.
• Problem-solving skills focused on solutions, involving input from all employees.
• Knowledge of biases and ability to implement company policies consistently.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and a commitment to improving quality.
• Applies feedback to enhance performance and monitors work to ensure quality.

Essential Functions

• Visual acuity for data analysis, transcription, computer use, reading, and inspection.
• Regular pushing, pulling, balancing, manual dexterity, stooping, grasping, and reaching.
• Regular lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), climbing, walking, hearing, and repetitive motions (often/critical).
• Regular talking, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus over long periods.
• Intermittent/critical ability to write complex documents in English.
• Regular ability to read complex documents in English and express thoughts orally.
• Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
• Regular ability to perform job functions at the company’s office or work site.
• Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g., extreme heat/cold, fumes, noise).

Pay

The wage range for this role is $80,640 - $120,960. Final offer may vary based on experience and geographic location. Specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on hire date, schedule type, and collective bargaining agreements.
