Engineer (Project Manager) – Walnut Creek, CA

About the Role

Safe and Sound Security is California’s fastest growing commercial security integrator. We’re a commercial security systems and data cabling contractor with 15 years of experience serving businesses. With over 70% growth this last year, we’re adding a Project Manager to our core team to help manage the increased workload. This role reports directly to the President and requires a hands-on professional who understands security systems from blueprint to completion.

Responsibilities

• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve challenges during installation, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and client satisfaction.
• Project Planning and Design: Develop comprehensive project plans and security system designs based on client requirements and blueprints, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Client Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns promptly, and managing expectations through transparent and open communication.
• Hands-On Oversight: Actively participate in the installation process when necessary, collaborating with the installation team to troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure installed security systems meet specified standards.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: At least 7+ years of hands-on experience in security system installation, with a deep understanding of both software and hardware components. A background as a former technician is essential.
• Project Management Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of successful project management experience in the security system installation industry, with a proven ability to oversee projects from conception to completion.
• Engineering Knowledge: Strong background in security system engineering, including the ability to create and modify blueprints. Familiarity with the latest advancements in security technology.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders, conveying technical information clearly.
• Problem-Solving Aptitude: Proactive and analytical approach to resolving issues during installation, ensuring project continuity and client satisfaction.
