About the role
This position supports the Wear Components Engineering group by working directly with customers to understand requirements, develop product specifications, and support manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers to understand product requirements and develop agreed-upon product specifications.
- Document product specifications, manufacturing processes, and verification requirements.
- Support manufacturing teams to ensure products are produced efficiently and meet customer expectations.
- Manage assigned products and lead new product development projects through Kennametal's stage-gate process.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and operational performance.
- Provide technical support to sales, customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Prepare quotations for pump components supporting both domestic and international sales.
- Support existing industrial clad products and identify opportunities for product improvements.
- Collaborate with the Bangalore engineering team to provide technical guidance on product design and process requirements.
- Coordinate manufacturing readiness activities to ensure successful new product launches.
- Ensure product and process documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.

- Travel as needed to support customers, suppliers, and business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Relevant machining, manufacturing, or product engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Machining experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across multiple organizational levels and locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to support both internal and external customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and project management software such as Microsoft Project.
- Experience with SAP, NX, and Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as required to support job responsibilities.
