Engineer, Process II

About the Role

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Process Engineer II for its Heflin, AL location. This role is responsible for the development, standardization, quality, and continuous improvement of processes and products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and improves manufacturing or production processes to maximize efficiency and quality
• Adheres to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout all process operations
• Diagnoses and resolves process-related problems to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
• Applies Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to drive cost reduction and efficiency gains
• Creates and maintains process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports
• Works with design, quality, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure seamless process integration
• Assists in scaling up and validating processes for new products or technologies
• Ensures machinery and tools operate within specified parameters for optimal output
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior engineers, hourly team members, and other staff on process changes or best practices
• Collaborates with IT and engineering teams to integrate digital tools

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering
• 2-4 Years of Experience in Engineering
• Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-7 Years of Experience in Engineering
• Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Working Conditions

• Travel: Less than 20% of time
• Physical: Moving 25%, Standing 25%, Sitting 50%
• Environment: Office, Plant/Warehouse Floor, Extreme Heat/Cold
