Travel is required, approximately 10% of the time.

About the Role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a System Test Engineer or Principal System Test Engineer in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This role involves driving integrated test plans and system-level analysis while leading lab and integration testing in close collaboration with design and analysis teams in an Agile environment. Experience with DOORS and Jazz is key, and MQ-4C Triton background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and publish Integrated Test Plans and detailed test schedules and procedures for SYSIII testing.
  • Provide laboratory support for integration testing activities.
  • Organize and lead test planning working groups.
  • Collaborate with design and analysis teams to define test configurations and data requirements.
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the completeness of the test program.
  • Conduct technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive evaluations at the system level.
  • Support test readiness reviews and conduct pre/post-test briefings.
  • Conduct and contribute to pre- and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution.
  • Maintain metrics on testing status and constraints.

Qualifications

For Engineer Systems Test: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, OR a Master's degree AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in engineering.

For Principal Engineer Systems Test: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, OR a Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience in engineering.

For Both Levels:

  • Active US Government clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Able to support extended work hours, weekend shift rotation, and second shift.
  • Experience working with requirements.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Capability to work with minimal supervision and develop effective approaches to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in lab environments.
  • Knowledge of system engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with the Agile development methodology.
  • Familiarity with IBM Jazz and IBM DOORS.
  • System Requirement development experience.
  • Prior MQ-4C Triton experience.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; base salary offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Schedule

9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. Ability to support extended work hours, weekend shift rotation, and second shift as needed.
