Engineer - Painter Preventive Maintenance

About the Role

This is a safety-related position responsible for providing general maintenance of the hotel suites property-wide, in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to hotel suite daily maintenance calls.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program for the hotel.
• Assist the Engineering department wherever needed to promote the safety and well-being of external and internal guests and to protect the facility as directed by supervisor.
• Troubleshoot complex maintenance problems and develop creative solutions.
• Handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
• Maintain, repair, modify, and enhance products, services, or facilities.
• Evaluate information to repair, maintain, or modify systems, products, or facilities.
• Refine or improve systems, products, or facilities within the department or function.
• Adhere to safety as an essential function of the job.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 21 years of age or older.
• Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License and any other certification or license required by law or policy.
• 4 years of on-the-job experience in electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and heating appliances.
• Must possess personal computer and data entry skills.
• Demonstrated general maintenance skills, including knowledge of hand tools, electronic equipment, electrical, plumbing, and lighting.
• Knowledge of gaming law and boom and scissor lifts preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other team members of different backgrounds and experience levels.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Lift or carry 50 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks.
• Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
• Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts.
• Ability to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
• Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
