About the role

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer or Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team in Palmdale, CA. This position is assigned to a 1st shift 4/10 (Monday-Thursday) or 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes damage tolerance, durability of metal and composite airframe structures.
  • Reviews completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.
  • Presents and explains structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
  • Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries.
  • Solves difficult problems thoroughly, imaginatively, practically, and consistently with program objectives.
  • Evaluates as-built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Experienced in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree in STEM with 3+ years of relevant experience, or PhD Degree with no experience for a Principal Structural Analysis Engineer.
  • Active In-scope (within 6 years) U.S. Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Program Special access within a reasonable period of time.
  • Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
  • Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years or more Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.
  • Experience working on Special Access Programs.
  • Experience working on military aircraft.
  • Current in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience performing DADT analysis.

Skills

  • Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
