About the Role
V2X is seeking a Project Engineer I within the Weapons System Integration (WSI) Team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Project Engineer I will support all phases of the development process, working across disciplines to develop technical solutions and support a multi-discipline team, including Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineering, as well as Production, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance. This role operates in a fast-paced environment, providing technical leadership to design, develop, and deliver products supporting the program lifecycle. The Project Engineer I supports project plans and drives the team toward solutions that meet technical requirements and cost targets.
Responsibilities
- Support the technical authority and design owner for assigned programs.
- Coordinate and organize the technical project team, ensuring all disciplines execute within the established program budget and schedule.
- Coordinate the development of spend plans, staffing plans, project schedules, and program organizational charts.
- Support the creation of the project backlog, write user stories, and manage releases for Agile projects.
- Support project reviews, including the creation and presentation of program cost, schedule, and measurement data to business leadership and customers.
- Collaborate with Program Management to ensure technical cost, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved.
- Participate in Program Review preparations, supporting the program manager in developing program review data for business leadership.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (DoD, MIL-STD, ITAR, cyber compliance, etc.).
- Support proposals within the WSI Program areas, including engineering estimates, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and proposal volume writing and review.
- Support and lead cross-disciplinary technical teams across systems, software, hardware, cybersecurity, integration, and test.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
- Systems Engineering knowledge, including Requirements Management, IV&V experience, and project lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create and maintain project plans, including leading and coordinating project tailoring.
- Ability to monitor and measure project performance.
- Ability to become proficient in Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD US Government Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Windows, and Microsoft Project.
- Basic understanding of reading and comprehending drawings, specifications, and other technical information.
