Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop detailed Work Instructions, define manufacturing processes and procedures, and coordinate required tooling.
- Serve as a technical liaison with customers regarding product build issues and manufacturing actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing technicians to support fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of aircraft parts and components.
- Design and implement manufacturing processes, documentation, tooling management, and project workflows, including detailed task sequences and material flow planning.
- Provide technical input and review during tooling design and specification to ensure alignment with manufacturing best practices.
- Lead and support manufacturing project planning and scheduling to ensure efficient execution and on-time delivery.
- Interface with Design Engineering, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure requirements and specifications are properly translated into deliverable products.
- Utilize and manage ERP systems to develop product line-of-balance plans, manage long-lead materials, and meet production schedules.
- Oversee project activities including bills of material, manufacturing plans, visual management, performance metrics, LEAN implementation, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills
- Language: Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mental Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Must possess knowledge of geometric tolerance.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand and walk 6 to 8 hours a day. Must be able to work with their hands, arms and be extremely accurate. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Customary physical demands for an office environment. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high-speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
