Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Engineering department to implement new technologies and technical infrastructure for the station.
- Assist Users with desktop support amid a variety of applications.
- Serve Engineering, News, Production, Promotions, Sales, and Broadcast Hub Departments by providing quality and highly responsive support services.
- Troubleshoot and maintain News production systems including ENPS, Bit Central, Ross Xpression, Ross OverDrive, Chyron, and Premiere Editing workstations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Master Control Broadcast Hub operations, including Florical, Harmonic, and Cobalt technologies.
- Learn the basic operation of all systems as a User would, to help better support them.
- Plan, configure, setup, and test new systems and/or equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Aid VP/Technology, Dir/Engineering, and Mgr/Technology with projects as needed.
Requirements & Skills
- A four-year Technical Degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or equivalent combination of education and work experience (5 years minimum) is required.
- Previous experience in a Broadcast facility is required.
- Experience with remote desktop applications and VPN required.
- Demonstrable PC/MS Office experience required.
- Knowledge and experience with Adobe editing systems required.
- Experience in Information Technology / Desktop Computer support is strongly preferred.
- Experience with AV switching, video encoding/decoding and file transcoding a plus.
- Experience with Transmitter operation and maintenance preferred, or a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work extended hours, as needed.
- Ability to work alternate shifts and rotating on-call shifts as needed, as this is a 24/7/365 environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to a maximum of 70 pounds, work at heights with ladders and appropriate safety equipment.
