Engineer / Maintenance

About the role

You’ll keep guest rooms and public areas fully operable for guest comfort and safety, ensure a safe work environment for fellow associates, and respond courteously to guest requests to resolve matters to their satisfaction.

You’ll use your technical abilities to solve problems and make repairs effectively and efficiently, assist with grounds upkeep, maintain mechanical areas in a safe and orderly condition, and keep clear, legible records.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance to keep guest rooms and areas fully operational for guest comfort and safety.
• Ensure the work environment is safe for fellow associates.
• Solve problems and make repairs effectively and efficiently using technical skills.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, resolving matters to the guest’s satisfaction.
• Assist with grounds upkeep.
• Maintain mechanical areas in a safe, orderly, and clean condition.
• Maintain legible, orderly records.

Requirements

• High school diploma with technical or vocational schooling preferred.
• Hotel experience preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of technical fields such as carpentry, painting, and electrical.
• Effective communication skills and a professional manner.
• Ability to work in a team and make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of Kemper Insurance Red Tag System may be required.
• Ability to drive a pick-up truck may be required.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.

Compensation: Based on experience.
