Engineer Lead

About the role

Join our team as a Lead Maintenance Engineer and take charge of daily operations to ensure our property runs smoothly. You'll lead a maintenance crew, tackle preventative maintenance, respond to guest requests, and handle work orders with expertise in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more. Your leadership will inspire your team to excel while maintaining safety and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance operations, assigning projects and ensuring smooth workflow.
• Perform preventative maintenance, respond to guest calls, and complete work orders efficiently.
• Demonstrate expertise in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance tasks.
• Maintain property safety by addressing hazards promptly and adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage and motivate the engineering team, including scheduling and performance oversight.
• Respond quickly to guest room maintenance requests with a positive attitude.
• Conduct regular property inspections, ensuring upkeep of grounds, lighting, irrigation, pool, and spa to meet health codes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, forms, and assist with setup for meetings and events.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (property-specific requirement).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and handle basic financial information and arithmetic.
