Engineer KPO Co-op

About the Role

Responsible for supporting various projects and tasks which further the development and implementation of continuous improvement in all areas of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and build machinery that adheres to Pursuit Aerospace - Cleveland’s numbering system, while ensuring operator safety.
• Rapidly prototype and produce right-size production-ready equipment throughout the shop.
• Utilize machinery and materials within the shop to create and modify custom components.
• Work with all areas of the organization, including Operators, Engineers, Leads, Quality, EH&S, and Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) team.
• Utilize Kaizen tools to support manufacturing process improvements and flow lines.
• Learn to interpret blueprints, dimensions, symbols, and geometric tolerances based on customer specifications.
• Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Support and participate in various roles throughout the shop such as Kaizen and 3S workshops, including performing flow line operations.
• Travel to other Pursuit Aerospace sites may be offered and/or required.

Requirements

• Interest in mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
• Basic understanding of mechanical components and machine design.
• High school diploma and actively enrolled in an accredited University.
• Ability to work independently, as well as perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

• Primarily shop floor environment.
• Equipment used: computer, gaging, fixturing, machinery, and hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• CAD skills.
• Familiarity with requirements for aerospace component manufacturing, including knowledge of aerospace fabrications, machining, laser technology, welding, coatings, and heat treatment.
