About the Role
Responsible for supporting various projects and tasks which further the development and implementation of continuous improvement in all areas of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and build machinery that adheres to Pursuit Aerospace - Cleveland’s numbering system, while ensuring operator safety.
- Rapidly prototype and produce right-size production-ready equipment throughout the shop.
- Utilize machinery and materials within the shop to create and modify custom components.
- Work with all areas of the organization, including Operators, Engineers, Leads, Quality, EH&S, and Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) team.
- Utilize Kaizen tools to support manufacturing process improvements and flow lines.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, dimensions, symbols, and geometric tolerances based on customer specifications.
- Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Support and participate in various roles throughout the shop such as Kaizen and 3S workshops, including performing flow line operations.
- Travel to other Pursuit Aerospace sites may be offered and/or required.
Requirements
- Interest in mechanical and/or electrical assembly.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components and machine design.
- High school diploma and actively enrolled in an accredited University.
- Ability to work independently, as well as perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
- Primarily shop floor environment.
- Equipment used: computer, gaging, fixturing, machinery, and hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- CAD skills.
- Familiarity with requirements for aerospace component manufacturing, including knowledge of aerospace fabrications, machining, laser technology, welding, coatings, and heat treatment.
