About the role
The Engineering Intern will be working with the Business Unit Manager to optimize the shot peening process, including design and execution.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a 3D Printer.
- Design and fabricate custom tooling using conventional methods and 3D printing.
- Identify opportunities for masking/general improvements.
- Create SolidWorks models, assemblies and drawings.
- Support machine improvements, troubleshooting, & repairs.
- Research and procure materials from vendors.
- Potentially travel to facilities for on-site work.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering student of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.0 GPA in major.
- CAD Modeling Experience (ideally SolidWorks).
- 3D Printing Experience (experience with Cura software).
- Manual lathe & vertical Mill experience a plus.
- Design & Build Experience (e.g. Robot team, Catapult Team, HPVC Team, or personal projects).
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
