Engineer Intern

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer for a summer internship in our Lexington, KY office. This role offers hands-on learning and practical experience in designing electrical power systems for various construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize bid information documents from General Contractors
• Evaluate bid documents and develop design strategies with guidance from engineering managers
• Provide bid information to design service providers as needed
• Perform preliminary designs and provide estimating team with necessary bid breakdown requirements
• Coordinate with pre-construction managers to ensure successful bidding outcomes
• Organize bid documents and assist in the evaluation of quoted items

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in electrical engineering
• Experience in AutoCAD electrical and Revit (preferred)
• Understanding and troubleshooting customer needs and problems
• Knowledge of electrical design and circuits (preferred)
• Strong administrative, accounting, computer, and communication skills
• Effective communication with all organizational levels
• Able to build trust and influence others internally and externally
