About the role
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has a vacancy within the Engineering Resource Development Program (ERDP) located in the Training and Technology Transfer Section. This position provides entry-level engineering experience for recent graduates while working toward professional licensure.
Responsibilities
- Apply basic engineering principles and formulas to routine calculations
- Afford assistance with inspection, construction, and maintenance of transportation infrastructure
- Support laboratory, field, or office engineering activities
- Collect and analyze samples for testing and evaluation
- Afford cost analyses and economic justification studies
- Participate in training and professional development activities
- Afford assistance in the supervision or coordination of technical staff as appropriate
Requirements
This position requires eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate. The position is temporary and permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position. Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificates are issued by the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board. Licensing requirements may be viewed at www.lapels.com.
