Engineer in Training, Water/Wastewater Conveyance
Job Responsibilities
- Aid Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems.
- Edit and write specifications, researching design options for appropriate devices, equipment, and system selections.
- Apply prescribed techniques and procedures according to established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Research document findings and provide recommendations.
- Collect data, gather information, and perform basic and standard computations or analysis.
- Prepare drawings and visual aids as needed.
- Participate in meetings and reviews to ensure code compliance.
- Conduct site investigations and observations as required.
- Interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Relevant experience in the Civil Engineering industry
- Engineer-in-Training/Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT)
- Strong grasp of core engineering principles relevant to their discipline (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical)
- Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, or discipline-specific software
- Competence in interpreting data, using statistics, and applying analytical tools
- Understanding of timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Critical Thinking and Attention to Detail
Preferred Education & Experience
