Responsibilities

  • Take the design lead on projects and coordinate with clients.
  • Aggressively resolve project concerns.
  • Perform conceptual to final design of residential and commercial projects.
  • Prepare calculations and details of structural elements for commercial projects.
  • Draft project plans using AutoCAD.
  • Aid in construction support activities such as responding to RFI’s, submittal reviews, job site reviews, design reviews, etc.
  • Coordinate work product with other disciplines.
  • Provide updated information to superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Communicate with project owners and engineers to maintain a positive company image.
  • Read, interpret, and comprehend engineering specifications, process design drawings and contracts.

  • Knowledge of Concrete Construction up to three stories.
  • Knowledge of Foundations including shallow/spread and deep foundations.
  • Knowledge of Metal plate connected wood trusses.
  • Knowledge of Engineered Wood Products.
  • Knowledge of Steel, Wood, Masonry Structures.
  • Great team player!

Qualifications

  • EIT with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience performing structural engineering of wood and masonry structures.
  • AutoCAD 2D intermediate/expert proficiency, Revit a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Risa 3D knowledge.

Experience

  • Some flexibility in hours with potential to work 40+ hours during some weeks.
