The Engineer III - Structural performs engineering assignments that build professional knowledge and skills, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across related tasks. This role applies basic judgment in established methods and selects among standard engineering approaches, seeking guidance on more complex issues. The position contributes to broader project efforts through consistent and reliable execution and reports to the Department Manager.

Responsibilities
- Performs defined portions of broader engineering assignments with increasing independence and accountability
- Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, evaluates data, identifies discrepancies, and follows through on detailed processes
- Performs standard computations, analysis, and technical evaluations to support project delivery
- Supports project management activities, including estimating, proposal preparation, and contract documentation for typical projects
- Maintains direct communication with clients on assigned tasks and project coordination
- Assists with permitting, applications, and preparation of design documents, including CADD work
- Submits work for QA/QC review and incorporates feedback to ensure quality and accuracy
- Proactively communicates with the Project Manager regarding project status, risks, or client concerns
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- 3+ years of engineering experience
- Experience applying standard engineering practices, techniques, and analysis
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with project teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- Experience supporting project management activities (e.g., estimating, proposals, contracts)
- Exposure to client communication and coordination
- Familiarity with permitting processes, design documentation, and CADD tools
- Experience working in a multi-discipline or team-based project environment
