Engineer III Coastal

Duties

• Coastal morpho dynamic and hydrodynamic modeling and assessment.
• Coastal hazard assessment, including but not limited to storm-induced coastal erosion and wave overtopping; flood inundation and routing; and cable burial risk assessment.
• Coastal structure design alternative analysis and modeling.
• Living shoreline modeling of oyster castles to limit coastal sand erosion and marsh retreat.
• Statistical extreme value analysis.
• River sediment transport modeling and mitigation assessment.
• Dissemination of findings to peer-reviewed and conference journals.

Requirements

• Requires a Master’s in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Port Engineering, or a related field plus one (1) year of experience as Coastal Engineer, or a related occupation involving coastal engineering design.
• Experience may be gained concurrently and must include one (1) year in each of the following:
• Coastal morpho dynamic and hydrodynamic modeling and assessment
• Coastal hazard assessment, including storm-induced coastal erosion and wave overtopping, flood inundation and routing and cable burial risk assessment
• Coastal structure design alternative analysis and modeling
• Living shoreline modeling of oyster castles to limit coastal sand erosion and marsh retreat
• Statistical extreme value analysis
• River sediment transport modeling and mitigation assessment
• Surface water hydrological modeling
• Storm and sewer pipe network alternatives modeling and assessment
• Dissemination of findings to peer-reviewed and conference journals.
