Engineer III
About the role
This position involves producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. It requires close collaboration with the project manager for research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. The role involves developing conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using various drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. Mentoring and reviewing work of junior engineers is also part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Aid in the development of project specifications.
- Responsible for development of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
- Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
- Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
- Performs quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
- Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or
- PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

- Independently progresses the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
- Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation, AutoCad and/or Bluebeam.
- Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
- Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The position is full-time and is based in the San Antonio area, including Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, McMullen, Uvalde and Wilson Counties. Occasional work in Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft Worth and El Paso and other areas may be possible.
