Engineer III
About the role
The Engineer III is responsible for delivering end-to-end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems within assigned client groups, business units, or corporate departments. This role fosters collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains complex components of information systems.
- Mentors others on coding standards and performs code reviews.
- Reviews test cases and advises Quality Assurance (QA) on adjacent code and regression impact.
- Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing.
- Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts.
- Provides on-call support and monitors the system, identifying system deficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in any occupation with experience on one platform, multi-database, multi-language, or multi-business application.
- Experience with Big data, data engineering concepts, Apache Spark, Scala, AWS services such as Glue, Step Functions, Lambda functions, SNS, SQS, and data warehousing experience with exposure to Redshift, Snowflake, RDS.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Big data.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in data engineering concepts.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Apache Spark, Scala.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in advanced SQL.
Skills
- Knowledge of industry trends, our products, and infrastructure.
- Collaboration with engineers and graphic designers.
- Analysis and evaluation of detailed business and technical requirements.
- Understanding of product and analytics, driving requirements that consider stakeholders' needs.
- Problem identification and risk assessment.
- Coding and maintenance of complex components of information systems.
- Code reviews and advice to QA on adjacent code and regression impact.
- System testing and defect fixing.
- Integration activities with other IT departments.
- On-call support and monitoring of the system.

Pay
The salary for this specific position is $137,027.97 per year. The salary range is the range Elevance Health in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Schedule
This role requires associates to be in-office 3-4 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance.
