About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer responds to guest repair requests, performs preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. They handle repairs on equipment, fixtures, and building systems, ensuring safety and efficiency. The role involves training team members, performing safety procedures, and maintaining professional guest interactions.
Responsibilities
- Attend to guest repair requests and communicate effectively
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry)
- Maintain safety and inventory standards
- Assist with surface preparation, repairs, and system troubleshooting
- Mentor and support other engineers and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
- Follow safety policies, ensure proper use of tools, and uphold professional standards
- Operate shut-off valves and use computer programs for maintenance and energy management
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. with vocational training
- Minimum 2 years of hotel maintenance experience
- Valid Driver’s License and Universal CFC Certification
- Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
- Knowledge of safety standards and use of hand/power tools
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform surface prep and painting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and guest service skills
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks
