Engineer I -Water (Portsmouth, NH)

About the Role

We are hiring an Engineer with our water discipline, based in our Portsmouth, NH office. Successful candidates will be involved in the planning, study, design, and construction of water supply, storage, distribution, and treatment systems, as well as computer-aided analyses of water distribution systems. This includes preparing plans and specifications for permitting and construction. You should have an interest or experience in the basic AutoCAD environment and ARCGIS. The role requires handling a flexible workload, managing diverse project files, and collaborating effectively with multiple staff members.

Candidates must be able to make day trips to project sites (valid driver’s license required) to perform tasks such as field tests, data gathering, field inspections, and construction observation.

Responsibilities

• Design and construction of water supply, storage, distribution, and treatment systems
• Computer-aided analyses of water distribution systems, including preparation of plans and specifications for permitting and construction
• Fieldwork, including tests, data gathering, inspections, and construction observation
• Collaboration with team members on diverse project files
• Use of AutoCAD and ARCGIS for engineering tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• 0-4 years of experience
• Either in possession of or pursuing EIT or PE licensure status
• Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience or coursework in water resources, water treatment, water distribution, hydraulics, or related civil engineering design work
• Experience with ArcGIS
• Valid driver’s license

Pay

Salary Range: $72,000 - $78,000 based on education.
