About the role

The Engineer I – Transmission Services plays a crucial role in modeling SPP’s electrical transmission system, conducting engineering analyses, and coordinating special studies. They collaborate with various stakeholders including SPP, customers, and consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling SPP’s electrical transmission system
  • Engineering analyses supporting Transmission Services
  • Coordination of special studies
  • Developing fundamental understanding of transmission system concepts
  • Communicating with stakeholders and project groups
  • Providing technical support to meet project deadlines
  • Adhering to SPP’s culture, mission, and core values

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a calculus-based engineering field from an ABET-accredited university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with SPP power systems analysis tools
  • Understanding of SPP’s governing documents and processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office© tools
  • Basic understanding of SPP’s policies and procedures

Skills

Competency with administrative and communication tools, advanced proficiency with SPP power systems analysis tools, practical knowledge of SPP’s governing documents, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and competent use of communication and data handling software.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $70,320 – $87,895. Offers may vary based on experience and other factors.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours as needed.
