About the role
The Role
Entegris is seeking a Process Development Engineer to join their Electrostatic Chuck R&D team at the i2M-Bedford facility. The engineer will support the development and introduction of new unit processes, capabilities, and metrology for new electrostatic chuck products. They will work on designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating operational performance requirements of electrostatic chucks, collaborating with other Engineering team members, NPI, and Operations groups to help qualify and transfer new products to full-scale manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Design and test new process technology for product prototypes
- Understand customer requirements and define product specifications
- Propose design within manufacturing limits
- Perform R&D of new manufacturing process technology
- Audit practical application in production
- Support validation and qualification and release into manufacturing
- Review customer requirements in a larger team
- Propose solutions and generate test data
- Use statistical process to collect and analyze engineering data
- Set specifications for new products and calculate process capability
- Perform process yield and defect analysis
- Generate reports for internal reviews
- Support test data collection
- Document new processes
- Provide training to Operations personnel
- Manage development projects in Accolade system
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent field
- Fast learner with ability to understand problems and solve them by gathering information independently, with just general supervision
- Able to understand and troubleshoot issues, research and propose solutions, and provide feedback
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and hands-on experience with their design, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with high vacuum systems a plus
- Knowledge of statistical methods (Six Sigma, SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA)
- Ability to work effectively as a part of the team, good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with semiconductor fabrication process and equipment is a plus
