Job Description
Join a mission-driven utility organization where you'll play a key role in supporting reliable electric service and outage response operations. This position is responsible for administering, maintaining, and continuously improving critical outage management and distribution operations technologies that help ensure system reliability and rapid service restoration.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Outage Management System (OMS) applications and related operational technologies.
- Support outage prediction, restoration workflows, and system reliability initiatives.
- Monitor application performance and resolve data, system, and integration issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams to support connectivity with enterprise and field systems.
- Provide technical support during storm events and major outage restoration activities.
- Train and assist internal users on OMS functionality, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Support Distribution Management Systems (DMS) and other operational technology programs.
- Participate in infrastructure, asset management, and system improvement projects.
- Analyze distribution system performance and assist with engineering evaluations and recommendations.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts across utility operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience supporting electrical distribution systems, utility operations, OMS, SCADA, DMS, or similar technologies.
- Experience supporting outage restoration, switching operations, or real-time system monitoring.
- Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including power systems, transformers, rotating equipment, and circuit analysis.
- Familiarity with electric distribution system operations, substations, feeders, switching devices, and system protection concepts preferred.
- Knowledge of outage management systems, restoration processes, and reliability principles preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and technology teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
