Engineer I-Maintenance
About the role
Manage and lead maintenance technicians, planners, and MRO personnel to improve equipment reliability, safety, productivity, quality, and cost performance. Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs in collaboration with production, engineering, and OEM teams to maximize equipment uptime. Coordinate manpower, materials, and maintenance activities for daily operations, shutdowns, and special projects using SAP PM and Axalant. Drive asset care initiatives through training, inspections, lubrication management, predictive maintenance, and continuous equipment improvement. Oversee spare parts inventory, warranty tracking, tooling refurbishment, and maintenance resources to support operational requirements. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, ISO/IATF standards, housekeeping (5S), and all company policies and procedures. Lead employee development through training, coaching, performance management, corrective actions, and qualification tracking. Serve as the communication liaison between shifts, support troubleshooting efforts, and implement continuous improvement programs to reduce equipment failures and increase efficiency.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5+ years of related experience
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within maintenance
- Ability to use and train individuals to repair production/manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of machining/production processes and machine maintenance and/or repair processes/procedures
- Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (Excel) and knowledge
- English language competency
- Availability and flexibility schedule (e.g. weekends) to meet customer requirements
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate degree strongly preferred
- 2-5+ years of manufacturing experience
- SAP Maintenance/other MOS (maintenance operating system) experience, with Axalant experience a plus
- Proficient in requirements of local, state & federal laws as required for industrial manufacturing (i.e. OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.)
