About the role
This posting is for Engineer I, Engineer II, or Engineer III positions. Placement of the hired candidate will depend on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and supervising section personnel and activities as assigned
- Coinciding, reviewing, and inspecting engineering projects or activities
- Ensuring these activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes
- Performing additional tasks as required
Job Related Requirements
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, subject to call back 24 hours a week, 7 days a week. Night meetings and weekend work may be required. May be required to work on religious holidays.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must work cooperatively with others. When requirements include vehicle operation, the employee is responsible for the safety, readiness, and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.
- This position is designated as an emergency position that requires your attendance at work under all types of emergency conditions. Some examples of emergencies include inclement weather, utility failure, fire or other forced evacuations or as determined by the Manager.
Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Engineer I: High school diploma or equivalent required with four years of experience in the required discipline (Engineering, Construction Management, Design Engineering, Land Development, Stormwater, Water & Waste Water Systems, Pavement Management, Utilities Engineering) required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid driver's license. Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Engineer II: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design Engineering, or related discipline with two years of experience in a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Certification As An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Is Required. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license. Two Years Of Supervisory Experience Is Preferred. Certification as a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission Level 1A preferred.
- Engineer III: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design Engineering, or related discipline with four years of experience in a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Professional Engineer (PE) Is Required. Two years of supervisory experience is required. Certification as a Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission Level 1A is required within 6 months. Must possess a valid driver's license.
