About the role
Austin Bridge & Road is seeking Entry Level / New Grad Engineers for various projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. This position performs a variety of entry-level engineering and administrative duties across multiple departments—Operations, Estimating, Survey, Scheduling, and Engineering—to provide broad exposure to the business.
Responsibilities
- Project Controls
- Assist the General Controls Manager with training and compliance activities
- Aid in the development and presentation of training materials
- Update TAW2 policies and procedures
- Perform TAW2 compliance functions
- Assist project teams with TAW2 policy compliance
- May perform construction administration duties as described for a Field Engineer
- Scheduling
- Assist in creating project and bid schedules
- Update project schedules
- Perform Earned Value Metric updates
- Surveying
- Read plans and perform survey calculations
- Operate company surveying equipment
- Establish horizontal and vertical control
- Engineering
- Support field operations with tasks including earthwork calculations, shop drawing review, and basic design of formwork and false-work systems
- Plan and layout jobsites for logistics and hoisting
- Perform CAD drafting
- Conduct engineering calculations and design
- Estimating
- Perform quantity surveys
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids
- Price components of estimates
- Solicit subcontractor and vendor bid proposals
- Conduct site reviews
- Technical
- Read and interpret owner’s drawings and specifications
- Ensure ABR staff and subcontractors understand job requirements
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
Qualifications
- New or recent college graduate (May 2026 – December 2026)
- Strong prioritization, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated collegiate-level computer, mathematics, and technical writing skills
- Aptitude for mastering additional position requirements
- Basic understanding of engineering principles of heavy civil highway construction
