Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate developing independence while applying standard engineering methods and techniques with moderate supervision
- Support the resolution of PARs, RFIs/TQs, and field technical issues by gathering data, coordinating with stakeholders, and assisting in technical evaluations
- Aid in reviewing field conditions and providing basic engineering input to support safe and compliant execution
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) activities and implement solutions aligned with design and procedures
- Support the development and review of mechanical erection and commissioning procedures, including interpretation of engineering documents (P&IDs, drawings, specifications)
- Capture lessons learned from field execution and support updates to standard procedures
- Develop familiarity with gas and steam turbine construction, including skids, modules, piping, valves, and structural components
- Aid in understanding auxiliary systems such as lubrication systems, fuel gas systems, and air cooling systems
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support construction and commissioning activities
- Participate in project meetings and provide basic technical input under guidance
- Ensure awareness and adherence to safety standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations with supervision
- Assist with procedure clarification for site teams during construction and commissioning
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and internal processes (e.g., CAPA, procedure updates)
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or a Technical diploma from a college or university would be an asset
- 0-3 years of experience in power generation, construction, industrial operation, or a combination of education, training, and experience
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (Primavera P6), ISO procedures, and OSHA requirements is an asset
- English proficiency required
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, drawings, and standards
- Additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese) are a plus
