Full-time position assisting with engineering system design across multiple simultaneous projects.
About the role
Under close supervision, you will perform design calculations, prepare specifications, interpret and create reports, estimate costs, conduct impact studies, secure permits, and produce deliverable drawings.
Responsibilities
- Assist Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems.
- Write and edit specifications; research design options for devices, equipment, and system selections.
- Apply prescribed techniques and procedures to perform assigned tasks.
- Research, document findings, and provide recommendations.
- Collect data, gather information, and perform basic and standard computations or analysis.
- Prepare drawings and visual aids as needed.
- Participate in meetings and reviews to ensure code compliance.
- Conduct site investigations and observations.
- Interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors.
- Limited client-facing responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 0–1 year of experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
- Strong grasp of core engineering principles relevant to your discipline (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical).
- Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, or discipline-specific software.
- Competence in interpreting data, using statistics, and applying analytical tools.
- Understanding of timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
